My Role
As the main designer for the Advisor Institute, I gathered requirements and led the design direction for the infrastructure. I collaborated with key stakeholders such as the product owners and digital content manager to re-design the web layout, utilizing the latest components from the MSIM design system to ensure consistency in visuals as well as experience.
Current State
The Advisor Institute is a library of various videos, articles, workbooks, etc., tagged with different topics and is designed to help financial professionals learn more and level up their skills.
The current site structure of the Advisor Institute has resources and insights spread throughout multiple pages, with most pages only having a few (2 or 3) pieces of main content. Despite there only being a few resources on the page, users are finding that there’s still a lot to scroll and click through because the content is too spaced out.
Goals
Part of the rework for the Advisor Institute was to perform an audit of the information architecture, restructure and consolidate the information as well as reduce the amount of pages the Advisor Institute had. An additional goal of the redesign is to utilize components from our new MSIM design library while adapting it to look similar to the work that the TANK Design Agency did for Morgan Stanley’s Tax Education Center – this way, users will know that these pages are related.
This will give the current resource site a facelift and make it more user-friendly, keeping all the resources compact and easy for our users to look through.
